Silver Lake is one of four lakes along the June Lake Loop, offering sweeping panoramic views of majestic mountains and surrounded by towering aromatic pines. This picturesque lake is ideal for novice or leisurely paddlers, providing a relaxing experience and breathtaking scenery. Be sure to bring a camera to capture the amazing vistas.

The June Lake Loop boasts a wealth of natural wonders, from jaw-dropping scenery and excellent camping facilities to trophy-size rainbow trout. Kayak anglers will delight in the abundance of fishing opportunities, with prime spots near where Rush Creek enters the lake, around the small islands at the south end, and along the southeast shoreline.

Beyond paddling and superb fishing, Silver Lake provides a myriad of family-friendly recreational activities. Stand-up paddleboarding is a popular option, suitable for all ages and skill levels—a fun and adventurous way to spend the day on the water.

The Silver Lake Campground, situated along Silver Lake Campground Road in the picturesque town of June Lake, provides both tent and RV camping options for visitors. Nestled amidst a lush, mixed forest of spruce, fir, and aspen trees, some campsites are positioned directly alongside a nearby creek, offering shaded, serene sites with breathtaking views of the lake.

Several trailheads in the area provide access to the Ansel Adams Wilderness, Yosemite, the Pacific Crest Trail, and the renowned John Muir Trail, which spans over 200 miles of remote, pristine Sierra Nevada wilderness.

On sunny days, Silver Lake's crystal-clear, emerald-green waters draw summer crowds. Once you've experienced the beauty and serenity of this remarkable lake, you'll be eager to return.
