Lake Murray Kayaking

Nestled within the boundaries of Mission Trails Regional Park, Lake Murray is a year-round destination for outdoor enthusiasts. Situated between the City of San Diego and the neighboring communities of La Mesa and Santee, the lake offers a wealth of recreational opportunities to enjoy.

From fishing and kayaking to picnicking lakeside, there is no shortage of activities to partake in. The lake itself is packed with things to do, catering to a variety of interests and skill levels. Novice paddlers can rent kayaks from the on-site concessions, while anglers can cast their lines for Florida-strain largemouth bass, bluegill, channel catfish, black crappie, and trout (stocked November through May).

Beyond the water, visitors can soak up breathtaking views, hike the surrounding trails, and relax in the shaded picnic area equipped with barbecues and tables. Lake Murray is truly an ideal location for families, providing a scenic escape for kids and adults alike to immerse themselves in the great outdoors.
