Trails Regional Park, Lake Murray is a
year-round destination for outdoor
enthusiasts. Situated between the City of
San Diego and the neighboring communities of
La Mesa and Santee, the lake offers a wealth
of recreational opportunities to enjoy.
From fishing and kayaking to picnicking
lakeside, there is no shortage of activities
to partake in. The lake itself is packed
with things to do, catering to a variety of
interests and skill levels. Novice paddlers
can rent kayaks from the on-site
concessions, while anglers can cast their
lines for Florida-strain largemouth bass,
bluegill, channel catfish, black crappie,
and trout (stocked November through May).
Beyond the water, visitors can soak up
breathtaking views, hike the surrounding
trails, and relax in the shaded picnic area
equipped with barbecues and tables. Lake
Murray is truly an ideal location for
families, providing a scenic escape for kids
